Open play Tuesdays

Area 51 has Tuesday nights, 6pm to 11pm, carved out for Privateer Press's Warmachine and Hordes players. With over 16 tables and an absolutely incredible range of terrain (requiring an entire room devoted to storing it!), you can vary your battles between castle fortifications, wooded rivers, volcanic pits, gladiator cages and ancient ruins under alien landscapes. The gaming environment is great, the staff are gracious, local pizzeria has unreal specials, and there's a solid balance of experienced and new players to test your gaming against. Just say hello to anyone you see in the back with Privateer Press models and they'll introduce you to the local players and help find you a game.

Tuesday tournaments

The second Tuesday of each month we host themed tournaments. These tournaments are $5 to enter, start at 7pm. run 3-4 rounds, and finish by 11pm. New players are encouraged to join and can forego prize support to avoid the entry fee. The best way to learn is trial by fire! You'll have a blast surprising a veteran with a sneaky win, or will get rolled hard when an opponent does something that makes your jaw drop.

Custom scenarios

We regularly field custom scenarios, by local players, that take a theme of the game to the extreme (i.e. power attacks, assassination or strategic positioning). This themed scenario selection is to tighten up the players' experience with the competitive side of the game (one of the funnest parts!). When we run formal Privateer Press Steamroller events or leagues, we're hoping our locals are better prepared to fend off those savages from across town that swoop in for our faction coins! That's right, we're calling you out Plano, Denton and Dallas (said with much humor since we partner with those stores to create a growing Warmachine community).

First step: Simply introduce yourself as someone who wants to battle!

The players are extremely friendly and all the employees at the store know the local Warmachine and Hordes crew. Ask any one of the staff to point you in the right direction and they'll help you get a game started.
