Hunter Burton – Team Captain
Hometown: Burleson, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Hunter Burton is a leader in the Texas MtG community. He has a Top 4 finish at Pro Tour Austin in 2009 and a Top 8 finish at Grand Prix Denver in 2008. Hunter also has eight Top 8 PTQ finishes since 2005. He is an active poker player when not playing MtG and his favorite format is Ravnica Block Booster Draft.

Chris  

Chris Brown – Team Captain
Hometown: Arlington, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Chris Brown is an expert deck builder who has managed to build numerous decks that have gone on to win big events. He has a Top 8 finish at Regionals in addition to a Top 20 finish at the 2010 Texas National Qualifier. Chris has been playing Magic since 1994 and his favorite format to play is Standard (or Type II for us old school types.)

Christian Flodstrom-Sconce – Team Captain
Hometown: Arlington, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Christian is another veteran Magic player who has an extensive resume. In 2009 he won the Honolulu PTQ in Oklahoma City followed by a second 2nd place at a PTQ in Little Rock. In 2010 he won two PTQ's in Texas which allowed him to play in both Pro Tour Amsterdam and Pro Tour Paris. His most recent accomplishments include Player of the Year for Aussie Fox Events and finishing in the top 40 of Grand Prix Dallas in 2011. Christian's favorite format is Standard.

Justin  

Justin Petri – Team Member
Hometown: Lewisville, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Justin is relatively new to Magic as he only began playing in 2006. He has been an avid competitive player when he’s not running his own pool remodeling business. In early 2010 he made Top 4 of the Star City Games 5K in Ft. Worth and has placed high in several PTQ’s. Justin’s favorite format is Limited.

Ramos  

Michael Ramos – Team Member
Hometown: El Paso, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Ramos, as the team likes to call him, is a well rounded gamer when it comes to collectible card games. He has several major event wins for other games such as Yu-Gi-Oh and The VS System. Ramos has a Top 8 finish at an Amsterdam 2010 PTQ event in Houston as well as winning a JDS Events 1K. He has been playing Magic since 1995 and enjoys playing Extended format.

Nicky  

Nicky Rucker – Team Member
Hometown: Arlington, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Nicky is another team member that is new somewhat new to Magic but has been progressing steadily. In May of 2010 Nicky won the Texas National Qualifier placing with an undefeated 7-0-1 record. Nicky’s favorite format is Standard.

Sam Mckay
Hometown: Austin, TX
Sam began playing Magic the Gathering in 2003 casually with friends. In the last few years, Sam has taken a more competitive approach to Magic having traveled all over the surrounding states to compete. He has emerged as a diamond in the rough with regards to his natural drafting ability and has proven his ability to run with the "Big Boys" in all formats of constructed play. Sam enjoys palying in booster drafts the most.

Jon  

Jon Toone - Team Member
Hometown: Ft. Worth, TX
Team Veteran - 1 Year
Jon at first comes off as a very reserved individual, but don't let that fool you about his card playing skills. In 2006 Jon won the Dallas PTQ for Pro Tour Geneva and more recently finished 44th at Grand Prix Houston. Jon has also found success alongside Hunter Burton (fellow A51 team member) in teams events, qualifying for Pro Tour Charelston back in 2006. When he has the opportunity to play, Jon enjoys Limited format.

Team Prospects

Ian Jasheway
Hometown: Mansfield, TX
Ian is a top prospect for Team Area 51. In his short Magic career he has managed to win a PTQ for Pro Tour Berlin and Top 8 numerous others. He placed in the money at Grand Prix Houston and had a formidable showing at Pro Tour Berlin. He is a shoe-in to take the next available spot on Team Area 51! Ian prefers to play constructed format.

Mike  

Michael Ferri
Hometown: Grapevine, TX
Mike began playing Magic the Gathering in the Onslaught Block and has been tearing up the scene ever since. He has multiple Top 8 finishes in sealed PTQ’s and has also made Top 4 at the 2010 Texas National Qualifier. Mike also has event wins in a 2-HG PTQ and the 2007 2-HG State Championships. Booster Draft Format is Mike’s favorite.

Nick Skrobe
Hometown: Euless, TX
Nick has been playing Magic for a while however is new to the competitive side of the game. In March of 2010 he placed 3rd at the MTG Fanatic 5K in Houston and place in the top twenty-percent at the Texas National Qualifier. Nick’s favorite format is Standard.
